CLASSES
Unwind's instructors are passionate about yarn and are first-rate knitters and crocheters. We offer a variety of classes for all levels and interests throughout the year. Class materials must be purchased at Unwind.

INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTION – Knit & Crochet
Perfect for help with patterns, learning to finish garments or a quick refresher.
1 person, 1 hour - $40; 1 person, 2 hours - $75
2 people, 1 hour - $75; 2 people, 2 hours - $145

Knit Now - Perfect for Beginners or those brushing up on skills

You'll learn:
• Cast on & Bind off
• Knit stitch & Purl stitch
• Changing colors & Adding yarn

• Start on a real project and get all the help that you need to complete it.

It's Just a Cable Thing
Cables open up a whole world of possibilities, and they are just about the easiest thing to do in knitting. Join us for this comprehensive class in cables! You’ll learn:
• Knitting Basic Cables
• Knitting Reversible Cables
• Reading Cable Charts
• Understanding Cables & Gauge
• Choose from two great cable projects, Fingerless gloves or Keyhole Scarf, using either 1 skein of ArtYarns Cashmere 5 or Supermerino per project.

Sock It To Me on Two Circular Needles!
Socks remain the perfect project for new or experienced knitters. They are portable, simple, and use a small amount of beautiful yarn. Socks make great gifts and turning that heel make you feel quite powerful! We’ll make a mini-sock for practice using two circular needles from the cuff down.

Make My Knits Fit: A Hands-On Workshop
Tired of your knits not fitting the way you would like? Wondering what’s up with pattern sizing, and why it doesn’t seem to work out for you? Stephanie reveals all she knows from 30+ years of garment knitting. This is a fun class full of “aha” moments. Knit to fit from now on! You’ll learn:
• How To Measure Yourself for Knitwear
• How A Schematic Tells You Everything
• S (M,L, XL) – What these really mean
• Why Numbers Are Your Friends
• Why Knitting “Math” is not Real Math
• The Power to Change the Pattern to Suit You
• How to Make a Picture Pattern

Three hours. $50. Materials: Bring a 6” square swatch worked in worsted weight yarn, extra yarn for class and appropriate needles, knitting notions, paper, and pencils with erasers and a calculator. Lola the Pig with Curly Tail

Lola is so cute. She just squeals for you to knit her up. With one skein of beautifully soft, hand-dyed yarn from Schaefer, Lola is a great project for the animal lover, small child or Easter basket. She’s a fun, easy knit. Won’t you join me to make her? You'll learn:

Calypso Lace Jacket from Loop-D-Loop

Lola the Pig with Curly Tail

Lace pineapples are popular in crocheted and knit doilies. Teva Durham has reinterpreted the pineapple motif into this modern, knit jacket that can be worn year round. Knit up in Loop-D-Loop yarns Moss, a light-as-air merino wool and nylon, blend, this jacket is a great garment for a new knitter. It has minimal shaping, the yarn is lovely to work with and the pattern stitch is simple to understand. Give it a try! You'll learn:

Basic sewing techniques are fun and easy! If you’ve never sewn before, this is your class. We’ll make a lined tote bag in class. You’ll learn:

• All About Bobbins
• Basic Stitches
• What’s a Seam Allowance
• Marking
• Finishing and Lining

Three hours. $120 includes fabric, thread and notions to use in class. Please bring your machine & machine needles. Sign up for this class online.
