Valentine Surprise Pillow This pink & red confection features a small pocket on the back. It's the perfect place to hide a chocolate kiss for your sweetie.

Materials:

1 hank Crystal palace Cotton Chenille, pink (MC)
1 ball Berroco Crystal FX (CC)

Size 6 needles or size to get gauge

Gauge: 4 sts and 6 rows in Cotton Chenille
4 sts and 8 rows to Crystal FX doubled

NOTE: Crystal FX is used doubled throughout. Cotton Chenille is used singly throughout.

Stripe pattern:
With CC doubled, work 8 rows in St st
With MC single, work 6 rows in St st.

As your ends will be hidden in the seams of the pillow, you may carry the yarn not in use up the side of the work, avoiding having to weave in ends.

Pocket Lining:
With MC single, cast on 14 sts. Work 20 rows in St st, ending with a RS row. Break yarn, and leave sts on a holder.

Pocket Flap:
With CC doubles, cast on 14 sts. Work in garter st for 8 rows, ending with a WS row. Break yarn and leave sts on a holder.

Pillow Side #1 - striped side
With CC doubled, cast on 40 sts. Work in striped pattern for 32 rows.

Place Pocket (RS): Knit 3, cast off next 14 sts, knit to end of the row.

Next row: Purl 23, take your pocket lining, and purl across 14 sts from the holder, purl 3.

Join pocket flap (RS): Knit 3, holding WS of flap against RS of pillow, Knit together 1 st from flap with next 1 st from pillow. Continue in this manner, knitting together flap with pillow. Knit to end.

Continue in stripe pattern for 9 rows more. Bid off all 40 sts.
